Vineyards

One of Asconi's key strategic objectives is the development of Company-owned vineyards. In implementing this goal, Asconi has already purchased approximately 3,000 acres of premium vineyard land in the central and southern winemaking regions of Moldova. The Company began making these acquisitions in 2002 and plans to continue purchasing vineyard land going forward until the quantity of grapes collected from the Company owned vineyards meets all grape requirements of the Company.

During spring of 2004 Asconi planted approximately 925 acres of vineyards, primarily consisting of Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay grapes. The region-adapted rootstocks were purchased from French and Italian producers after careful analysis of the soils and climatic conditions. These newly-planted vineyards are expected to produce the first harvest in the of 2007 and reach full production capacity in 2009.
